The Cider client still works for Mac...?

Let me rephrase what I wrote:

Question 1: will it do any good bug hunting the current classic Mac client, while it will be obsolete in 16 days?

Question 2: how can we Mac users help out when there is no SiSi client available for us?

Quote:
If you live on the test servers, always wanting to figure out the latest features and mechanics, then why not apply to ECAID and take the next step!

Shocked

Ah sorry, yes I can see what you are saying but in 16 days we are going to need Mac Bug Hunters for the new client so you may not be able to do anything at the moment apart from get trained up.

But as its about to be obsolete, there's no real purpose of bug hunt-testing it, is there? Shocked

The current Beta Sisi Mac client is non existent, or at least not available for us Mac zealots.
So, though we would love to help out, without a (beta gamma alpha epsilon whatever) test client leading up to Apochribba M10, we cannot be of much help, can we?

errrm.... what about this?

or is the sticky in general discussion leading into false hopes?

And worse case scenario, you are able to boot a Windows partition of your mac and run EVE from there ... Cool

1. Please tell me where I can send your portion of hkarl. Or maybe I can have the pleasure feeding it to you during up coming fanfest? Twisted Evil

2. Running EVE through (cringes) bootcamp on (cringes again) XP would make the whole bug hunting for the Mac moot. Amiright?

3. I'll just keep crossing my fingers with the rest of the community that in the end everything will work out fine for our client (only 15 days to go).

4. Maybe its helpful if you'd also posted 'Mac bug hunters wanted' in the Mac Forum with a link to the blog and here.
Anyway thank you for your time and answers.

That was a link to the new premium Mac client. Which stopped working after SiSi was readied for Apochrypa. Neutral We no longer can access SiSi.

I just wanted to thank for the hakarl at fanfest...
I think that the brennivin at the next table was really really needed.

But it seems chaining hakarl, brennivin and the protein delicacies candies is the right thing to do!

Next time, build a more complete meal for the mission runners! Hakarl pizza is an option!

I wasnt aware that the Mac client was released publicly yet nor that it had stopped working on Sisi since Apoc went live, I will look into this. In the mean time if you are interested in Mac BH work then please apply as we have very vew Mac BH's.

pee-shark...??

Yes, pee shark. AKA hkarl. It is an extremely pungent "delicacy." Sharks don't have kidneys, so they store their urine in their flesh. Icelanders bury the flesh to ferment it, then eat it and chase it with Brennevin. A person who eats this is said to be a true viking.

I am not a true viking. Thank god.

I am. Ask Tyrrax.

This stuff sounds like lutefisk (which I grew up w/ and love Very Happy)... I always wondered who the first genius was to soak fish in lye and eat it.

I'm guessing pee-shark is full of ammonia? Neutral

The good thing about these Scandinavian delicacies is that you can use the meat to clean your bathroom in the event it goes bad (course I doubt chemical fish can actually go bad).

Hey, about the bug hunters, I'm assuming you're looking for fairly experienced people? I'm new ('07er, but skipped '08) but love researching the game mechanics (mostly in regards to cruisers). Would there be anything for me to do if I applied?

If you are very familiar with certain aspects of the game such as agent running or industry/pvp then provided you've played for around six months or more i'm sure you would have work to do in ECAID if you get accepted.

I just double checked.
The latest mac sisi client is 73201 while the latest windows client is 80627
The client reports incompatible version and will not connect.

The premium mac client was available for a short while but broke once apoc came out.

I know this was maybe not mentioned intentionaly, but:

1. is there a required NDA for the bughunters
2. what is the minimum work required from a volunteer BH
3. are there any trainings provided from CCP side of things

I am mainly asking because I'd like to help with the game, but my online time is limited and bughunting will take away most of it it seems. Also I want to know the restrictions before I consider applying.

1. Yes, all ISD members are under NDA.
2. We have a minimum number of filtering that needs to be done per month, but it is a very manageable number.
3. We have senior bughunters mentoring the new people (hence training is provided by ISD, not CCP Very Happy)

As for restrictions, there aren't that many - other than keeping your application status a secret for others Razz. Also, you cannot be a volunteer for EVE if you are currently volunteering or employed by another game company (Note that in this case, beta-testing does not count as volunteering).

1. Yes. Hence the mystery surrounding all ISD departments.

And in general it's not the best idea to mention that you applied to a ISD department. Just so you know. Cool

A warning to anyone filling out an application:

Be certain to fill in ALL of the fields.

Even if you do not speak a second language, you must still fill in those fields along with the field regarding translation.

If you fail to fill in all of the fields, then the contents of the fields you have filled in will be discarded and you will need to fill in the entire form again.

I do hope you're never going to translate it into Dutch, it's a mistake some games have made before so let me warn you. Any game, or movie, you translate into Dutch becomes childish by default. Dutch gamers tend to hate it when it happens. Lionhead once did it with their game Black and White, and they received a flood of angry comments about it. Don't make the same mistake.

Just thought I'd give you the heads up.

Depends on how u translate it, dutch is a very complicated languish to translate to. But most dutch knows english just as good as dutch so, save up some work and dont translate Cool
