I have 2 questions about Premium Lite client:

1) Can I play with classic client after the mar 10th?
2) Does Intel Mobile 915GM/GMS, 910GML Express support Premium Lite client (I have directx 9 installed)? Is there somekind of Pixel Shader2 test program around?

does premium lite have the same requirements as the classic client?

After March 10th, there is no more classic client.
Look up the chipset on google and find out?

Read and do research? That's a silly idea. So silly. Razz

Premium Lite is live on Singularity if you want to try it out. It is not a separate client anymore, rather there are settings in the graphics section that you can adjust. Currently they're labeled UI_shader_quality and UI_texture_quality. Set them both to low and see how your PC copes. If it ran Classic it should run EVE with those settings. For instructions on how to create a Singularity client, please see the relevant threads in the Game Development forum section.

Is that an official statement?
It seems to run counter to the devblog on the issue.

Ok...

According to this intel product brief your chipset supports SM 2.0

I wouldn't expect stellar framerates but it should run "Premium Lite" after M10.

I'd suggest copying your eve-o install and trying SiSi to be sure though.

Here you go:

Linkage

EDIT: I assume that other requirements will be somewhere between the current Classic and Premium system requirements for Lite (i.e processor/RAM needs will be a little higher than for Classic) whereas Premium itself shouldn't be any different than it is now.

checking your GFX specs and looking at a website is too hard, so you need them to write a program to tell you this info that can be found in 10-20 seconds?

Not for nothing, but there is a big difference between "falling into spec" and "working good".

My laptop is compatible with Premium, the framerate stinks.

So you really need to try the test client on your actual system.

RE question #2: Run GPU-Z: Hi! The "DirectX Support" field includes the latest shader model version supported by the chipset.

No it is not an official statement. Not everything surrounded by blue bars is an official statement which can be quoted as fact until the end of time. Deal with it.

Get a hold of GPU-Z, run it, look at the box named DirectX Support.

will say xx/SMy.y

if it shows SM2.0 or higher, it should run premium lite.

Whether your card has a good implementation of directx shaders or not is something entirely different.

The new client makes me a very sad panda. Aside from the obvious fact that any patch requiring a hardware upgrade is the work of the devil, a lot of the premium paint schemes are just plain fugly. Sad

I have the exact same integrated graphics card as you (on a Dell B130 laptop) and have been running Premium Lite on it just fine for the last few days. I have been able to run the shader and texture quality on high (medium looks "ok ish", low looks like fuzzy crayon drawings). Although I haven't done anything majorly intensive, I have had a little lag here and there. Also the new warp effect is kinda screwy (doesn't look like I am warping and then suddenly I have arrived). All my issues seem to be related to the test server or bugs still being worked out rather than my computer, and some people with better computers are reporting worse issues than me. Plus, they still have over 20 days to keep working on it so I hope it gets even better (the very first Apocrypha patch almost blew up my computer before they fixed it)

I love the new EVE. With Atari coming the sound of the rushing American voices in space will be astounding. Good to know we have pure capitalists in charge.

I actually wanted to point out the idiocy of the engine names. To have a "Premium" you need to have something that isn't "Premium"; if you only have "Premium" and no benchmark then all you actually have is just "standard". Naming the engines "Premium" and "Premium Lite[sp]" makes you look like fools, or people that think your customers are fools.

The Devs must cringe at what Marketing do to all their hard work. :/

This thread has really degraded but, I just wanted to say:

I have a laptop with a crappy GFX card and was concerned about premium lite, I have to say I am very impressed with what they have done on sisi right now with premium lite. It started out rough, but after todays patch I'm getting great premium graphics, and very little lag.

Deal With It™ - I'm so going to use that when somebody is whining. Oh.. going offtopic now.

So yeah, if you can't run the Lite Premium you must have a very very very very old computer. Buy a new or Deal With It™
