Hi folks,

We're moving closer to the big day, and the Blood Raiders are moving closer to their big goal. Their big, bloody goal. Their big, blood-soaked, gory, murderous goal.

This chronicle is part of the End of the World series that's leading up to the big (blood-soaked, fiery) expansion: Apocrypha. The penultimate installment comes out two weeks from now, and the final bit will be released with the patch itself.

And folks, I'm sorry about the lack of replies in the last thread. You're all doing a wonderful job of guessing what might lie ahead, and I can't tell you much about what we're planning. What I ask you to do is keep the long-term in mind. This series of stories is only the beginning. There will be content, both in-game and out, that moves things forward. If your idea of the storyline (and the forces behind it) isn't realized immediately, give it time. Give it many months, even. Considering the plans we've been hatching, chances are you'll eventually see something like what you expected.

"Certainly, captain. My name is Omir Sarakusa. A long time ago an Amarrian group of heretics struck out for fortune and glory under the title of Sani Sabik. I am a leader of one of their branches, a group called the Blood Raiders. You may have heard of us."

That put a smile on my face.

That was a good one, and pretty funny Smile

The most interesting thing to me though is, even the Jove seem interested in getting their hands on that technology - which given their technological credentials, is very, very intriguing.

Edit: After taking a quick look in game, the CEO of the Blood Raiders is Omir Sarikusa, not Sarakusa Wink

niiiiiice

i dont think that the SCT and Jove are the same thing; this smacks of the SCT trying to (re?)capture the wepon and use it as leverage to regain some clout in jovian politics.

where is sarum? nobody think she would be even slightly concerned that someone is trying to half-inch her new shiney toy?

Regardless of whether the raiders are detected or not... where are the human patrols?

The moral of the story.. never trust machines.

well, the end of this is coming at us like a hurricane. they're gonna use the weapon, its gonna screw up the space-time continuum, and the end result will be: WORMHOLES!

also, i think they should rename the chronicle "TotalHellDeath" just for emphasis

Allied to the Blood Raiders ? I'd like to know how you manage that Smile

I've enjoyed reading the Blood Raider chronicles more than most of them, maybe I'm a bit sadistic Twisted Evil.

Anyway, it looks to me as though Jamyl Sarum would be very interested in what is happenning to all this Isogen-5.

Just a bit of speculation but I wonder whether the Thukkers from an earlier part of the story will show up after following this Blood Raider expedition.

Likely has to do with the balance of piratical power, and factions using each other as meatshields against other factions. The Blood Raiders, Sanshas, and Guristas all don't have a whole lot in common once you pass the "pirate" label. There is a little more visibly in common with the three major factions on the opposing side.

Anyway, enough about me, it was an excellent continuation of the story. Smile

what i really want to know is how the heck Jamyl got ahold of this thing to begin with... like maybe she is secretly the hive mind queen of the rogue drones.

I have an idea of what is to come in the next weeks. It's probably more then a theroy though but I would suggest to everyone that own the Empyrean Age book to re-read the last part about the Jove ship. Things might begin to fall in place once you do this.

Can say though that I really liked reading this piece. I can't wait until the next one comes out.

Its easy, this is leading us (the population of New Eden) back to the Milky Way, which was not decimated 23000 years ago, because the worlds there did not rely on supply lines that were cut when the EVE gate stopped functioning.

The Sisters have noticed that with the appearence of these micro distortions, the EVE gate has been acting differently. Prehaps the tears in space will allow the either the Sleepers, Sisters, Jove...ect, to re-open the gate from this side, and allow us to expand back into the Milky Way, as conquerors...Or prehaps the gate is being opened from the other side, and we will be forced to fight against intruders into New Eden.

I know I didnt word it too well, but I hope ya get the idea.

Great story, can't wait to find out what happens with the superweapon.

I also like to think that if we ever do get back to the milky way and find earth that original humans technology would be crazy advanced! far more than that even of the jovians, Would be cool.

Anyway once again great part of the story keep it up CCP.

hehe, I secretly hope the drones will blue-screen and reboot in safe mode just as the blood raiders board the ship. That would be awewsome, although a sentient machine like a drone is highly unlikely to run well on windows.

Two things.

1. If the Jove didn't build it who did? The Empress's secret weapons division?

2. Now only if something like this, existed for players to fight for control over. I
know this is a sad and sadistic thought, but it would certainly add a new dimension
to motive of war in null space.
If there were like four of these kinds of weapons to take over, that would be
freakin' awesome!

Great story as usual Abraxas! Keep 'em coming. :D

Could I just get an explanation to what the weapon is doing there in the first place and why Sarum isn't missing it? Were the drones under her control and refueling it?
